The Outpost rests high on a hill overlooking the luvuvhu river valley in the Makuleke Contractual Park, the wildest and most remote part of the Kruger National park.

The unashamedly contemporary design emphasises the beautiful surroundings but blends into, and preserves the wilderness.

The modern bar is a focal point and defines the lounge and dining areas, which offer a cool relaxing alternative to the daybeds and chairs on the terrace overlooking the swimming pool. The lounge is flanked by a large book case with an extensive and varied selection of books.

Accommodating up to 24 guests in 12 unique stand-alone open plan luxury Suites. These Suites have been cleverly designed, making full use of space, concrete and steel with state-of the art retractable screens offering uninterrupted panoramic views of the river and valley below.

Also known as the pafuri, the Makuleke Contractual Park is bordered to the north by the Limpopo River and Zimbabwe and to the east by Crooks Corner and Mozambique. This vast and remote 26,500 hectare big 5 concession, belonging to the Makuleke people, possesses nearly 80% of the Kruger Park’s biodiversity.

Listed Ramsar Wetland Site the Makuleke has identified over 350 bird species.

This area boasts rocks dating back 250 million years, traces of early humankind, baobabs carbon dating back 1400 years.

Game drives and outstanding walking safaris are undertaken in what is arguably one of the most scenically beautiful and diverse wilderness areas in the Kruger National park.
