RESERVA DO IBITIPOCA – MINAS GERAIS
Comfort and direct contact with nature for those who want to relax and enjoy unforgettable moments in a heavenly place.
It is more than an environmental project, but a concern to the future. The Reserva do Ibitipoca forms a green belt protection to the Ibitipoca State Park. Reintroduction projects of native flora and fauna are developed in the almost 4 thousand hectares of the preserved area in the surroundings of the Park, enclosing the municipalities of Lima Duarte, Bias Fortes e Santa Rita do Ibitipoca, in the South of Minas Gerais.
Our commitment is to create ecological corridors to bond fragments of the forests and expand the habitat of animals in the region - many of them are endangered, like the manned wolf. In the last two years, around 40 thousand native trees were planted.
The project started in 1981 with the acquisition of the Fazenda do Engenho. While The Reserva do Ibitipoca’s lodge was opened in 2009, as the tourism project, besides creating employment and capacitating local labour, it offers a unique and exclusive experience to the nature lovers.
At the Reserva do Ibitipoca, luxury is in the simplicity of each detail. The lodge’s locations are at the antique headquarters of the Fazenda do Engenho – a big renovated house and surrounded by green land at 900 meters of altitude. Our suites have exclusive decoration, valuing craftworks and local culture, extra large beds, Egyptian cotton, bathtub layette, amenities L’Occitane, towels and heated floors.
